Dr. Stanley Caress (1957-2016) was a professor, faculty advisor and programs director in political science at the University of West Georgia. Active in California state Democratic Party activities, he lost an election for California State Assembly to an established member of the Assembly in a heavily Republican district. The records of his time at UWG contain a variety of files, correspondence, and political keepsakes.
