Angus P. Robinson papers
Scope and Contents note
This collection contains the correspondence between Angus P. Robinson and Lois Owens Newman for the years 1979-1996, although it is evident by the first letter in the collection that they had been corresponding before these dates. Through the years, they exchanged information about the history of the Robinson and Lavender families of Carroll and Haralson counties, Georgia. In addition to the genealogical information found in their letters, there are family trees, copies of pictures, copies of original records, and copies made from family history books.

Biographical/Historical note
Angus P. Robinson, born 2 September 1925, corresponded with Lois Owens Newman for nearly two decades and shared information they discovered about the Robinson family. It is unclear whether the two were related, or if their areas of research just happened to overlap. In 1994, Newman published her research in a book entitled "Haralson County, Georgia: A History," so it appears that she focused on the area where the Robinson family lived as well as the family itself. Robinson died on 30 September 2000 in Cedar Lake, Indiana.
