Biographical/Historical note
LURe was started in 2010 by student Joshua Black to fill a gap in undergraduate humanities publishing. It originally contained choice selections from the annual undergraduate literary conference and was edited by English professors. It has since expanded to accept paper submissions nationally and internationally. The organization expanded to include student editors in 2011. The organization has since grown and in 2018 was awarded an NEH grant which enabled the organization to create its first editorial board made up of undergraduate and graduate students.
