The Academic Programs Committee is a unit of the University of West Georgia Faculty Senate. The earliest records for this committee date to 1973. At some point, the Academic Programs Committee split into two committees, the Undergraduate Academic Programs Committee and the Committee on Graduate Studies. These later became known as the Undergraduate Programs Committee and the Graduate Programs Committee.
