Intercollegiate Athletics Football films
Scope and Contents note
The contents of the collection span from 1980 to 1990 and are on 16mm acetate film. The majority of the films are in black and white with the 1981 game against Randolph-Macon College in color. There is no sound on any of the films.
Additions to the collection made in October 2023 are DVD transcriptions from the reel to reel films in the collection. The DVD transcriptions include games and scrimmages from the 1981 season.
It should be noted that the reels show noticeable signs of degradation such as fading or browning of the film (especially with color films) and some have a vinegar-like smell. Some reels also show signs of mishandling such as improper splices, bending/warping, and damaged sprockets. Careful handling is encouraged.
