Scope and Contents

The collection includes case files, publicity materials, legal records, clippings, audiovisual materials, and other materials related to the career of psychic Noreen Renier. The case files were sampled and include information related to missing persons cases and murders. There are also materials from Renier’s telephone readings of clients, including questions sent to Renier in advance by clients as well as transcripts of the sessions.

Names of some clients have been redacted due to privacy concerns.

Biographical / Historical

Born in 1936, Noreen Renier is a Florida-based psychic. She has worked with law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, on approximately six hundred unsolved cases. Her method involves holding items belonging to a missing person in order to learn information about the place, time, and circumstances of their disappearance. She is the author of A Mind for Murder: The Real-Life Files of a Psychic Investigator, originally published in 2005.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Blynne Olivieri reviewed Noreen Renier’s personal archive in July 2019 in Port Orange, Florida, and selected these materials to be sent to the University of West Georgia for permanent retention. Renier deeded the materials to the university on July 30, 2019.
