The Newnan Rotary Club acted as the club's sponsor. Irvine S. Ingram, president of West Georgia College (now the University of West Georgia) was the founding president. The club began inducting women in 1987 with Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald being the first. The first female president was Brenda Dangle in 1999-2000.
