Biographical/Historical note

Nancy Elizabeth McWhorter (1819-1891) was the first of the five children of Hugh Barnett McWhorter (1787-1857) and Sarah Elizabeth (Ludderdale) McWhorter (c. 1780-c. 1850). She married Andrew Jackson Aderhold (1819-1903) on September 27, 1842, in Carroll County, Georgia. Their son, James B. Austin Aderhold (1855-1884) married Sarah Elizabeth Boyd on January 3, 1878, in Carroll County, Georgia. They had three children, including Wiley Austin Aderhold, a Carroll County doctor. Wiley Austin Aderhold was the grandfather of Jackie Carden, and helped raise her after her mother, Hazel Irene (Aderhold) Ward died in 1936 at the age of 24. The land deed came to Carden through her aunt, Gladys L. (Aderhold) Barker (1901-1999), another daughter of Wiley Austin Aderhold. The connection between Nancy Hallmark and the Aderhold and McWhorter families is unclear.
