Biographical/Historical note

Alumni Relations is part of the Division of University Advancement. J. Franklin Pritchett, Jr., worked at the University of West Georgia for 27 years, retiring as Director of Alumni Relations in 2016.

J. Franklin Pritchett, Jr. was born November 26, 1960 to Herschel Franklin Pritchett, Sr. and Edna Earl Pritchett, graduating from Lithia Springs High School in 1979. He earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from West Georgia College in 1988 and began his career working as a reporter for the Times-Georgian before returning to West Georgia as Public Relations Coordinator. In 1992, Pritchett received the M.Ed degree in Guidance & Counseling from West Georgia College. In 1996, he became Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. In 2006, he became Associate Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving as his job expanded to include management of UWG’s Annual Fund program. He retired in 2016.
