Biographical/Historical note

Sherman Vann Wilson was born on August 16, 1920 in Washington, Georgia. He graduated from West Georgia College in 1941 and served in World War II as a navy pilot. Wilson graduated from Emory University in 1950 with a degree in dental surgery. In 1990, Wilson died in Shiloh, Georgia. He and his wife, fellow WGC graduate Betty O. Everett, established a scholarship fund at the University of West Georgia for students wishing to be physicians.
