Speech given by Newt Gingrich on January 3, 1998 at Gingrich's campaign office in Roswell, Georgia.

Gingrich is speaking to a group of Republican legislators in his campaign office, giving details of his Second Contract with America. Gingrich suggests that the Republican Party represents essentially the founding fathers, the Declaration of Independence, the United State Constitution as well as the Federalist Papers. Gingrich says there are four goals of the Republican Party, patriotic self-interest, 75 percent of the vote, a clear-cut philosophy and to be big enough to really matter. Gingrich opens the floor to questions from the various legislators in attendance. They begin asking for clarifications on several points previously addressed.
