Schematic mock-ups of exhibit layout and panel design
Scope and Contents note
The collection documents the re-creation of former Georgia House of Representatives speaker Thomas B. Murphy's state capitol office in the Ingram Library at the University of West Georgia. It includes correspondence, drafts of exhibit captions, conceptual mock-ups, and other materials. There is a large amount of correspondence between Catherine Hendricks and Kathy Dixson, of Avient Museum Services, an Atlanta design firm; Lorene Flanders, dean of Irvine Sullivan Ingram Library; Keith Hebert, UWG historical consultant/curator; and Marina Rakitova, a graduate student assistant/curator. The captions for the various portions of the Murphy exhibit underwent extensive editing and review by the project team, and drafts of these edits and changes are included.
