Report - Comparative Salaries and Salary Trends for Economics and Finance Faculty, Feb 1995
Scope and Contents note
Richard D. Guynn was an economics professor at West Georgia College from 1969 to 2001, but the collection only contains material from his last decade at the school. In the mid-1990s, the College of Business was going through the accreditation process, and Guynn was researching possible antitrust violations by accrediting associations. In particular, he examined the details of the 1995 case, Massachusetts School of Law v. the American Bar Association, the notes for which take up several folders.
The collection contains Guynn’s research on accrediting associations in general, including the standards set for accreditation for Colleges of Business. There are congressional research reports, notes about legal cases, and various articles about university accreditation. There are also multiple drafts of a research paper and a journal article written by Guynn about his research.
In addition, the collection contains a 1997 letter from Ann lea Harding, Chief of the Freedom of Information Act, in response to Guynn’s request for a copy of the report of the Special Commission of the American Bar Association. Following the letter is the Report of the American Bar Association Board of Governors.
