The collection consists of 54 Kodachrome color transparencies date-stamped 1982 and a set of black and white prints made from the slides, as well as black and white 35mm negatives for the pictures; however, the photos appear to have been taken much earlier--around 1960, based on clothing and cars in the photos. Perhaps the Kodachrome film was only processed in 1982 after the film rolls had been stored for years. The occasion of the photographs might have been the centennial anniversary of the mill or perhaps marking the new ownership of Bibb Manufacturing in 1963. The images in this collection are of interior plant operations such as thread spindles, raw cotton, and power apparatus. There are some images of exteriors, and most images feature a person or people, white and African American (all unidentified).
