General
Black and white photographs of Swann's artworks. The first in this folder is a a painting of a rose in a glass drinking goblet. Swann's note on the page says "This is the first painting I saved. Done late 1958 at my loft on Brown and West Broadway. Mom has it. I'd set about learning technique - and used this to try to paint a glass." Several still lifes and architectural images. [Blynne Olivieri Parker, archivist, observed that Swann's signature style became evident around 1961 in "Canyonscape with Stones," 45 by 50 inches, presumably]. Then figurative art. One, untitled, of a nude man with fins/wings with a large orb behind him. Swann's handwritten note: "35" x 45" Executed in 1/2 houre (sic) (timed) in order to escape from labored technique spring 1962." Color image of "Death of Man" Tripytych. 10 feet by 6 feet, 1963. Oil and gold leaf on camvast. Col. Mr. Reed Ericson (sic). Correct spelling of name, likely the purchaser, was Reed Erickson.
